UK’s Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sir Glen Torpy has just
returned from a flying visit to meet his Spanish counterpart General
Rancisco Jose Garcia De La Vega to compare and contrast how the two
Typhoon partner nations are introducing Typhoon into service and
training for future operations.

FORT MYER, Va.,
(Army News Service, April 10, 2007) - Gen. George W. Casey Jr. today
became the 36th chief of staff of the Army, assuming the position from
Gen. Peter J. Schoomaker.
Gen. Casey was the first commander of the Multi-National Force-Iraq, a
coalition of more than 30 countries, until February. He had served as
Gen. Schoomaker's vice chief of staff before deploying to Iraq in 2003
to assume command of the coalition.

Army Announces Human Intelligence Special Recruiting Program |

The U.S. Army announced the implementation of the Human Intelligence
(HUMINT) Non-Commissioned Officer Special Recruiting Program March 28
to bring at least 100 experienced NCOs into the 97-Echo career field.
"Our goal is to quickly infuse 100 Staff Sergeants and Sergeants First
Class to our HUMINT force from all other career fields," said Sgt. Maj.
Fernando Martinez-Irizarry, Deputy Chief of Staff, G-2 Sgt. Maj. "They
will be provided accelerated training on basic and advanced HUMINT
skills and be assigned to units deploying in support of Operation Iraqi
Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom."

3/31/2007 - SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFNEWS) -- U.S. Central Command Air Forces officials have released the airpower summary for March 31.
In Afghanistan, an Air Force B-1B Lancer dropped Guided Bomb Unit-31s
on an insurgent compound and a GBU-38 on an enemy firing position near
Garmsir. A Joint Terminal Attack Controller confirmed targets were
directly hit.
Another B-1B provided a show of presence for coalition forces in
contact with insurgents near Asmar and Orgun. A JTAC reported it as
successful given no engagements were reported thereafter.

Army Prepares for Next Rotations in Iraq |

The Department of the Army confirmed today the Department of Defense's
announcement for the next rotation of one corps headquarters, two
division headquarters and two brigade combat teams in support of
Operation Iraqi Freedom. Additionally, the Department of Defense
extended one unit in Iraq and added approximately 2,000 combat support
Soldiers to maintain the momentum of operations.
The XVIII Airborne Corps Headquarters, from Fort Bragg, N.C., will
replace Headquarters, III Corps, of Fort Hood, Texas, as the
Multi-National Corps - Iraq Headquarters in November 2007. The
Multi-National Corps Headquarters element oversees day-to-day
operations in Iraq, and this deployment of a corps headquarters and
some of its subordinate elements is part of a routinely scheduled
rotation of forces. No stranger to this mission, the XVIII Airborne
Corps Headquarters last saw duty as the Multi-National Corps
Headquarters from February 2005 - February 2006.
